[00:00:21] Speaker A: Welcome to Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
[00:00:24] Speaker B: Or as I like to call it, bad Decisions. The Podcast.
[00:00:29] Speaker C: Why do I already regret being here?
[00:00:31] Speaker A: Tonight's story is one that started as a game. But somewhere between the screen and the real world, it became something else. This is the story of 99 Nights in the Forest.
[00:00:55] Speaker A: It all started one summer when a group of friends decided to test out a new Roblox survival game.
[00:01:02] Speaker A: Goal was simple. Survive 99 nights in the dark forest. No map, no lights, and no way to quit once you start.
[00:01:08] Speaker B: So, basically a camping trip without wi fi.
[00:01:13] Speaker C: Except in this game, once you enter the forest, your flashlight start flickering and you could hear whispers, like the game knows your name.
[00:01:31] Speaker A: Players thought it was just part of the game, until one of them, user orbsurvivor99, posted a video saying, I made it to day 50 and something's following me.
[00:01:41] Speaker B: Oh, sure, something's following me. Probably a rat hole.
[00:01:46] Speaker C: No, Lamar. The next day, his account was gone. Deleted. His friend said his real life phone kept sending notifications that said, see you soon.
[00:01:57] Speaker B: Okay, that's actually creepy.
[00:02:00] Speaker A: More players joined the challenge. Streamers, YouTubers, regular gamers. But by day 60, weird things started happening. Every night, the forest in the game grew bigger. Paths they walked before disappeared. Cabins moved, trees rearranged.
[00:02:15] Speaker C: That's like Minecraft, but cursed.
[00:02:17] Speaker B: Or my room, I can't find my homework. Total chaos.
[00:02:22] Speaker A: And then came the red light. Around day 72, players started seeing a flickering red glow in the distance. If they walked towards it, the game crashed. And when they logged back in, their character was gone forever.
[00:02:35] Speaker C: And sometimes they hear their own voices echoing in trees, saying.
[00:02:44] Speaker B: Yeah, okay, I'm done. End of story. Wrap it up. Everyone survives the end.
[00:02:51] Speaker A: Not quite. One file player remains. Someone who livestreamed the entire time.
Username night owl13. She made it all the way to day 98. Her viewers watched as her flashlight died. The voice whispered, one more day.
[00:03:06] Speaker C: What happened?
[00:03:07] Speaker A: Nobody knows. Her stream ended at midnight. Her last words were, it's not a game no more.
[00:03:14] Speaker B: Okay, but that's obviously fake, right?
[00:03:19] Speaker C: And why do new players still find her tent in the forest with a.
[00:03:24] Speaker A: Note that says.
[00:03:26] Speaker A: And every time someone reaches that tent, their flashlight flickers three times, like someone's watching.
[00:03:32] Speaker B: Well, I'll never touch on Roblox again. I'll just stick to, you know, normal horror games like math homework simulator 3000.
[00:03:42] Speaker C: Don't joke with what if the game finds us next?
[00:03:46] Speaker B: Josiah, calm down. It's not like 99 nights in the forest is real.
[00:03:51] Speaker A: You sure about that?
[00:03:56] Speaker C: Ah, Nope, I'm out. Somebody get the marshmallows. I'm burning my laptop.
[00:04:02] Speaker A: Thanks for joining us for our first episode of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
[00:04:07] Speaker B: Remember, if you hear a whisper in the wood, it's probably just the wind.
[00:04:12] Speaker C: Or it's night. Owl13 waiting for the reminder.
[00:04:18] Speaker B: Sweet dreams.
[00:04:19] Speaker A: If you can sleep.
[00:04:32] Speaker C: Sam.
